You’ll work on cutting-edge cloud technologies, contribute to process improvements, and be instrumental in enhancing our service delivery. This role is crucial for supporting customer and internal environments, complex technical escalations, optimising platforms, and advancing automation to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
You’ll feel at home in this role if you are Microsoft certified and have solid 3rd line infrastructure support experience with a generalist focus, enjoy getting to the root of technical challenges, and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work for customers. Your time will be 70% tech focused, 30% working with clients to understand their business, identify issues before they arise and pro-actively manage their environments.

This role is hybrid and you can be based in our Birmingham, Bolton or Meppershall office 3 days per week.
As a Cloud & Managed IT Engineer, you will:
- Provide expert-level technical escalation support, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Drive efficiency through automation, streamlined service requests, and self-service capabilities across Managed IT.
- Perform administration and support across Azure, M365, Exchange, and Intune platforms.
- Contribute to proactive monitoring through automated remediation and operational excellence in infrastructure, systems, networks, and business services.
- Support service transition processes, ensuring documentation, procedures, and knowledge transfers are complete for seamless handovers.
- Champion service management processes including Change, Major Incident, and Problem Management.
- Be part of the weekend on-call rota to handle critical out-of-hours escalations.
- Support and manage the virtualized environment hosted within our private CoLo.
- Adhere to documented quality procedures and best practices.
What we’re looking for:
Essential Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Azure administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID and user management
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange management
- Moderate experience with Microsoft Intune or other MDM tools
- Solid understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting
- Strong expertise in supporting Windows 11 OS
- Strong expertise in supporting server infrastructure
- Solid experience with ITSM tools eg ServiceNow, HaloPSA etc
Desirable Technical Skills:
- PowerShell scripting
- Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Understanding of ITIL practices
- Hyper-V and COLO
- Terraform (IaC deployment)
Core Certifications that we are looking for:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-102)
- Microsoft Certified: Exchange Online Support Engineer (MS-220) (updated replacement for MS-230)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) (aligns with Entra ID skills)
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) (replaces MD-100/101 with Intune-specific focus)
- Desirable would be Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) and ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
