As a Junior Connectivity Product Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the development and success of our cutting-edge Connectivity products and services. These offerings encompass a wide range, including Broadband Services, Ethernet & Leased Line solutions, and multi-site networking technologies like MPLS & SD WAN.
Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of these products, from initial introduction to ongoing maintenance and eventual sunsetting. Collaborating closely with sales teams, customers, and market-facing functions, you’ll identify and craft compelling value propositions that leverage our innovative solutions.
This role involves direct interaction with both customers and suppliers, and occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
Under the guidance of the Proposition Manager, you’ll advance Intercity’s efforts in innovation, product development, and proposition creation within the Connectivity product category. Your focus will be on designing products and services that resonate with customers, addressing their specific needs and pain points. You’ll drive innovation by developing and implementing strategies, identifying new opportunities, and overseeing the launch of new services from concept to market testing.
As part of the go-to-market team, you’ll be accountable for product operations alongside colleagues responsible for operational product implementation and maintenance within your proposition category. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Innovative Propositions: Drawing on a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and technology trends, you’ll create propositions that drive profitable growth beyond budget expectations. Collaborate with sales specialists, technical solution architects, and commercial teams to achieve this goal.
- Agile Go-to-Market Strategies: Craft targeted propositions for specific markets and personas. Describe customer problem-solving statements, highlight service differentiators, and provide evidence points for marketing. Your hypotheses on market entry, ideally at a vertical level, will stimulate lead generation and growth.
- Pricing and Upsell Opportunities: Envision and launch commercial pricing propositions and bundles that attract new business and encourage cross-selling and upselling.
- Product Portfolio Management:
- New Product Introductions: Manage the process of introducing new products, including vendor evaluation (considering factors like red flag commercials, ESG, and security).
- Existing Portfolio Maintenance: Ensure technical, sales, and commercial capabilities align with changing market demands.
- Sunsetting and Retiring Products: Strategically phase out products and services as needed.
- Go-to-Market Strategies: Develop comprehensive strategies and tactics for each proposition category, including sales enablement materials, training, and customer communications updates.
- Collaboration with Product Operations Colleagues:
- Define service design through APIs and portals.
- Create sales enablement documentation covering SLAs, technical specifications, APIs, and boilerplate for proposals.
- Provide training on processes (e.g., technical aspects).
- Review commercial contracts and pricing (working with the commercial lead).
- Address security and sustainability considerations.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Monitor revenue, margin, profit, and contribution to overheads (ideally EBITDA).
- Track marketing (MQL), sales (SQL), and pipeline (opportunity) metrics.
- Evaluate sales performance against targets and market growth.
- Assess profitability of new business sales.
- Ensure roadmap delivery aligns with milestones.
- Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain relationships with third-party integrators and partners to tailor solutions from Intercity’s product portfolio.

- Strategic Direction: Collaborate closely with the Comms Proposition Manager and Comms MD to define the strategic direction of our products.
