In this role, you’ll be a key player in supporting both customer and internal environments, resolving complex technical escalations, and driving automation and platform optimisation.
Key Responsibilities as a Cloud & Managed IT Engineer:
- Provide expert-level technical escalation support to Tier 2 teams, creating knowledge articles and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
- Drive efficiency through automation, streamlined service requests, and self-service capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise customer and internal environments
- Administer and support Azure, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Intune platforms
- Contribute to proactive monitoring and automated remediation across infrastructure, systems, and networks
- Support service transition processes, ensuring documentation and knowledge transfers are complete
- Champion service management processes including Change, Major Incident, and Problem Management
- Participate in post-incident reviews and drive continual service improvements
- Be part of the weekend on-call rota (Saturday–Sunday, 7am–7pm) for critical out-of-hours escalations
- Support and manage virtualised environments hosted in our private CoLo
- Mentor Tier 2 and junior team members, promoting skill development and succession planning
- Adhere to quality procedures and best practices
- Serve as a technical lead on internal and customer-facing projects
Essential Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Azure administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID and user management
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange
- Moderate experience with Microsoft Intune
- Solid understanding of networking principles and troubleshooting
- Strong support experience with Windows 11 OS and server infrastructure
Desirable Technical Skills:
- PowerShell scripting
- Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Understanding of ITIL practices
- Experience with Hyper-V and CoLo environments
Professional Attributes:

Certifications (Required or Strongly Recommended):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)
- Microsoft Certified: Exchange Online Support Engineer (MS-220)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
Additional / Desirable Certifications:
- Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
- ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CCENT
