Intercity is looking for an experienced Account Director to take ownership of key enterprise customers and drive sustainable, profitable growth across our Managed IT, Cloud, Security and Communications portfolio.
This is a senior, customer‑facing role for someone who thrives on building trusted relationships, developing account strategy, and consistently delivering results.
About the role
As an Account Director, you’ll be responsible for the commercial success of your accounts – retaining, growing and expanding relationships with enterprise customers.
Working as part of our wider Enterprise Sales team, you’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, shaping your own account strategy while collaborating closely with technical, delivery and leadership teams to bring the right solutions to customers.
This is a results‑driven role where impact, ownership and commercial judgement really matter.
Hybrid working is supported, with some travel to Intercity offices and customer sites as required.
What you’ll do as an Account Director:
- Own and develop account sales strategies that align to customer objectives and business priorities
- Manage the full end‑to‑end sales cycle, from opportunity creation through to close
- Identify, qualify and convert new, upsell and cross‑sell opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and decision‑makers
- Maintain a structured 30‑60‑90 day sales pipeline with credible forecasting
- Prepare and present high‑quality proposals and commercial responses
- Work collaboratively with virtual teams to deliver winning solutions
- Ensure accurate and timely CRM updates across contacts, opportunities and pipeline
- Stay informed on market trends and customer challenges to shape better solutions
You’ll be accountable for achieving your individual sales target while contributing to wider team and business performance.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a commercially sharp, credible enterprise sales professional who is comfortable operating at senior level and managing complex customer relationships.
You’ll bring:
- Strong experience in B2B enterprise sales, ideally within IT, managed services, cloud or security
- A proven track record of consistently delivering against sales targets
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and long‑term accounts
- Confidence presenting to and influencing senior management and directors
- Excellent pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy and commercial awareness
- A professional, adaptable and customer‑focused approach
Degree‑level education is desirable but not essential.
