We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of operational delivery across our estate, leading day‑to‑day facilities management and ensuring our sites are safe, compliant, welcoming and consistently well‑run.
This is a hands‑on, visible role for someone who thrives on ownership, structure and high standards.
About the role
As Facilities Manager, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of our buildings.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities, you’ll lead BAU FM delivery across multiple sites, maintain strong on‑site presence, and ensure smooth, compliant and efficient building operations every day.
You’ll work closely with contractors, internal teams and stakeholders while supporting Health & Safety priorities, sustainability goals and continuous improvement across the estate.
Key responsibilities as Facilities Manager:
Operational Facilities Management
- Own day‑to‑day FM delivery across all sites, ensuring consistency, quality and service continuity
- Act as the first escalation point for operational issues, service failures and contractor performance
- Oversee PPM delivery, reactive maintenance, permits‑to‑work, access control and contractor mobilisation
- Lead the helpdesk workflow from triage through to close‑out and reporting
- Maintain strong on‑site visibility to uphold safety, presentation and occupier experience
- Lead front‑of‑house and visitor experience standards in line with the Intercity brand
Health & Safety & Compliance
- Apply Health & Safety policies on the ground, supporting the H&S Manager and committee
- Embed safe systems of work, RAMS verification and controlled contractor access
- Complete routine site checks, escalate risks and maintain statutory records
- Keep compliance documentation audit‑ready and up to date
ESG, Performance & Improvement
- Support sustainability and environmental initiatives across facilities operations
- Track utilities, waste and environmental performance and promote practical improvements
- Drive supplier performance through KPIs, SLAs and regular reviews
- Lead root‑cause analysis and embed corrective actions that actually stick
People, Stakeholders & Commercial Control
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, occupiers and internal stakeholders
- Support, coach and develop FM team members
- Assist with budget control, PO management, quotations and tender activity
- Challenge costs and scopes to ensure value for money and service quality
Key experience required:
- Proven experience managing multisite facilities operations
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, building compliance and statutory requirements
- Experience managing contractors, SLAs and operational performance
- Commercial confidence reviewing quotations, costs and supplier delivery
- The ability to stay calm, decisive and structured in a fast‑paced environment
Qualifications
- IWFM Level 4–5 (or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to support out‑of‑hours rota activity when required
